NCAA 09 Latest News (Xbox 360)

What up Legion it’s ya boy BG1906, and for those into college football video games, you all know that we are anxiously awaiting NCAA 09 from EA Sports. The release date is July 15, but new info is starting to hit the Internet.

My friends over at Operation Sports who have a beta copy of the game and have posted team and player overall ratings as they are listed in the beta copy. This is only a beta and things “could” change, but this is what EA has the ‘Canes looking like right now.

Miami Team Ratings

Overall - 86 (B)

Offense - 83 (B-)

Defense - 92 (A)

Miami Overall Player Ratings (Top 7 Players)

DE Eric Moncur - 93

SS Randy Phillips - 92

FS Lovon Ponder - 91

LB - Colin McCarthy - 91

LT - Jason Fox - 90

RB - Graig Cooper - 88 (Speed: 92)

LB - Darryl Sharpton - 88

Seems like they believed the Defense would be pretty good, and they accounted for our years of lack of production and youth on Offense. Therefore, you see relatively low rating for overall offense. EA has also made Graig Cooper a tad bit slower, as he was a 95 speed and the fastest player on the in NCAA 08.  Also, he’s the highest rated back so that must mean Baby J’s ranking has fallen as he was the impact player last year, probably due to the injury last year and his drop off in production. I think the ratings seem pretty accurate, and I'm going to have fun beating all the higher ranked teams with The U, it is just going to be more of a challenge.  Florida State got it’s traditional overrated ratings by EA as I guess they still see FSU as making a big splash at some point (yeah, right, whatever), and Florida got a much too inflated defensive rating, as I don’t think they are that good on defense. But anyways that is how EA sees it and as I said before this is only a beta copy and things could change before the final version goes gold and sent into production.

At any rate, for screen shots and more info, you can visit www.operationsports.com and also www.maddenmatrix.com for all your latest NCAA 09 news. I’ll continue to bring the Legion the latest as I receive it and once I get the game look out for a comprehensive review of both the game and the NCAA 09 edition of the Miami Hurricanes football team.  With that….

Peace and I’m out!  Go Canes
